The annual dance recital…sometimes even the thought of a dance recital on a bright and sunny weekend day can bring dread.  Why is that?  Is it that they have a reputation for being too long?  Is it that we are so busy in our lives that we want to quickly watch our child and then sprint out to enjoy the before mentioned sunshine? Is it because we don’t see any value in it?  I’d gather to say it’s a combination of all of these things put together. What the difference between Session Classes and Recital Classes? Here at Arts ‘n Motion, the bulk of our dance program is our Full Year Recital Season. This is a 35-week program that begins in September and ends with our annual Dance Recital at the beginning of June. Registration for this program begins in early June and registration is open until classes fill. We usually allow registrations to continue (depending on availability) until Dec 1st. Tuition for our full year program is based on a monthly fee depending on the number of hours taken per week. The required recital fee (in addition to monthly tuition) covers the recital costume, tights, any necessary accessories AND two (2) tickets to the annual recital (additional tickets can also be purchased closer to showtime). Recitals are held at Annapolis Area Christian School, Kerr Center for the Arts in Severn. In addition to our full year...

We love Winter Session at Arts ‘n Motion because we get to meet so many new friends! Our six week Winter Session began last week and we are so excited with full classes and smiling faces. In addition to Arts ‘n Motion’s popular Full Year Recital Program, we offer a few select classes as Session classes. These classes are short in length, require no recital commitment and are perfect for getting a glimpse at what our dance program offers. We offer 6-week session classes in the Fall, Winter and Spring months. During the summer, when our Full Year Program concludes for the season after our annual recital, we offer three, 3-week sessions with all of our popular Full Year Classes. In addition to our Fall, Winter and Spring Sessions, our short Summer sessions are a great way to see if your child is ready for a full year commitment. You...
